London-based design studio Lanserring, founded by brothers Bernd and Johann Radaschitz, designs and manufactures custom kitchens, furniture and lifestyle products for clients from around the world. Lately, they have designed the Delancey kitchen concept for a couple of takers. At its full-fledged self, this is a 10-meter long, deep green marble worktop with a cantilevered bamboo workbench atop the island as the central feature of its design.
The kitchen island, built-up drawer by drawer, looks like an empty block of solid marble outfitted with wooden drawers lined with shiny gold.
The open drawer underneath the bamboo worktop is designed to keep chopping boards and knives. There is a self-draining trough in the middle of the island that you can use to hold herb garden. Trivets onboard to present your dishes or hold the champagne ice bucket when the party is on at home.
The practical island drawers feature bespoke handles similar to the ones used in Victorian map chests and apothecary cabinets. With all its storage capacity and space it brings to the fore, the elegant countertop is for the those who like everything detailed, and want their kitchen well organized.

Delancey kitchen island defines itself with its practicality in design and use, choice of materials and colors. We learn Lanserring sells custom drawers starting at about $2,000 each, there’s no word on the price of the entire unit, but we won’t shy saying, it will burn a hole in the pocket.
