It’s hard to keep a tab on innovations around the world and it is even harder to dedicate time to grow your favorite plants indoors. But when there is a problem, there is also a solution. Presenting, Terraplanter, an inside-out hydroponic planter that allows you to grow a variety of plants inside your living room without putting in much effort.

The terraplanter is designed by Eran Zahri, an industrial designer, and plant enthusiast. Having spent around three years researching materials, plants, and numerous prototypes, Eran came up with terraplanter.

It is a user-friendly and ecological vessel that is conceived in a vertical Alexa-type shape and is made from ceramic making it an interesting addition to any interior space. The functionality is simple. You pour water inside the pot and place the seeds of the desired plant on the outside the pot. The seeds grow with the water on the inside, without the use of soil.

Its parametric design provides the vessel with a shape and texture that allows plant roots to grip its surface. The vessel acts as a water bank to the plants.  The stored water diffuses through pores that are present on the vessel’s body and reaches the plant cells.

Being on the outer surface of terraplanter, plants have constant access to water and air which allows them to grow on their outer surface just like moss or like vines grow on stone walls. It is specially designed to solve the under-watering and overwatering of plants.

The idea behind the creation of this terraplanter was to grow plants inside the living room without using soil by implementing hydroponic methods. Being made up of 100-percent natural materials, terraplanter is reusable and owners can plant new varieties anytime they want.
