This unique, bird nest-like treehouse is located in a forest in Savoie, Mont Blanc, France. Named The Nid Hut, it is a vacation rental at the ‘Entre Terre et Ciel’ – ‘Between Earth and Sky’ in English.
This rustic treehouse features a unique exterior made of intertwined tree branches that make it look like a large bird nest. Being elevated from the ground, visitors need to climb up through a steep staircase. The interior has a cozy feel to it and includes modern features like a wood-burning stove for a comfortable night’s stay.
The four bay windows allow guests to enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area from the inside. Wood is prominently used in the living spaces and a living tree also runs through the floor. Tea and coffee-making equipment are also available on the treehouse, as well as a separate bathroom complete with a shower and non-flush toilet.
The rooftop terrace is certainly the most amazing space of the treehouse, which is accessed through a staircase from the main living area. There’s no air-conditioning or TV in the treehouse; this is designed primarily so that guests can embrace nature.
