Gone are the days when you would spend loads of money on decoration items to dress up your home for the holiday season or otherwise. Many DIYers from time to time keep sharing inspiring ideas and recipes you can make yourself at home. With Halloween approaching, many people are crafting nifty things keeping in theme the All Hallows’ Day.
DIYer Greg of The Navage Patch is one such inspiration. He recently shared DIY Shower Pouf and Mesh Pumpkins which can be made within minutes only for a few dollars. Let’s take a look at the procedure as discussed by Greg.
It is easy to craft, only a few, low-budget things are required. Greg used orange, black and grey shower poufs, and a few copper mesh pot scrubbers. The other items used in this project are a few cinnamon sticks, some fall greenery pick, craft wire, thin wire, wire cutter, scissors, and a glue gun.
DIY Shower Pouf Pumpkin:
Begin by removing the tags from the freshly bought shower poufs, but do not remove the ribbon hanger loop
Cut about a foot-long craft wire and roll it around a pencil to make a coil out of it.
Once done, slide down the coil off the pencil and unroll a couple of coils in the middle.
Wrap a cinnamon stick in the middle of the coil and tie the coil around it firmly, so it won’t come off.
Cut a piece of the thin wire slightly longer than twice the length of cinnamon stick you have taken. Fold it with the hanger loop in center and twist.
Take out a pair of leaves off the stem and put the twisted wire through the hole where the leaves are joined. Push it against the pouf and pull the wire needle.
Put the wire through the cinnamon stick and push it down as well. While pressing it down dab some glue inside the stick to make sure the ribbon stays in place.
Once the glue cools down, cut the piece of ribbon loop coming out of the stick. And there is your shower pouf pumpkin ready.
DIY Copper Mesh Pumpkin
Take the copper mesh pot scrubber and put your finger through it to create a hole.
Grab another pair of leaves and jam it through the hole you created.
Repeat the process with craft wire and cinnamon stick to fashion out a cinnamon stem. And put it through the hole.
Well, it’s done. It’s that easy. So grab this stuff and make some mesh pumpkins for yourself. They are the easiest items you can make for fall décor.
