The world of interior design looks forward to Pantone’s annual selection of its Color of the Year to determine which spectrum to use ranging from the color of the walls to the vases on your tables. After Pantone announced its Color of the Year 2025, Italian designer Andrea Corsi unveiled handcrafted iconic vases from the Fish Design Collection originally designed by avant-garde Italian maestro Gaetano Pesce in the mid-1990s.
The latest iteration of the vases gets a warm makeover in Pantone’s Mocha Mousse to add a soft touch to the bold design. The vases have similar morphological and artistic features while maintaining tactile qualities as the maker’s imprint.
Andrea Corsi has been bringing Pesce’s visions to life for over two decades. The handcrafted resin vases are more than mere home décor pieces: they bring innovative materials and tradition with vibrant creations that flaunt their intrepid design and texture.
When asked about the Fish Design Collection, Corsi tells Homecrux, “During my time at Cassina, I became captivated by the poetics of Gaetano Pesce. A few years later, when we met and began collaborating, I had the incredible opportunity to bring one of his concepts to life, channeling his poetics into a tangible creation.”
Corsi highlights the importance of Pantone’s color selection, “Every year, Pantone’s proposal invites us to imagine new chromatic compositions, just like a musician composes his piece starting from a chord.”
The three vases that received the nuance and sophistication of Mocha Mousse are the Medusa, Rock, and Clear vases. Each of the vessels has been handmade by Corsi, adding a contemporary touch to the classic designs. Paired with the fluidity of resin, each design enhances a space with its unique shape, soft curves and defining details.

Medusa vase has an intricate design evocative of the snake hair of its eponymous Greek mythological figure. Its sinuous base is made from soft stretched resin to create an elaborate curved maze while the vessel itself seems an extension of the morphology of the base. However, the abstract curves become slender toward the vessel, making it a stunning piece of art.
The rock vase was originally made with small stones infused with the surface in 1995. However, these pebbles were replaced with small geometric squares covering the entirety of the piece. The new version in Mocha Mousse has a dark base which appears to dilute toward the rim. It evokes the design semblance of the traditional Venetian glass.
Created by Pesce in 1995, the Clear vase has a dense layering of soft resin giving it an illusion of valleys at dusk. It has a contrasting red base, lending the vessel an animal-like reference. This piece perfectly embodies the master artisan’s design philosophy of crafting objects that “bring more warmth, sense of humor, and affection to the spaces that surround our lives.”
“We envision Mocha Mousse, with its natural tones, becoming the new neutral — a versatile hue that seamlessly complements a wide array of colors in endless combinations,” Corsi says on the significance of the hue in defining interior design in 2025.
