Designer and builder Dustin Feider started O2 Treehouse in 2005 with the mission to inspire people to create unique living structures that can harmlessly co-exist with nature. The company has constructed a number of geodesic treehouses around the world and the Blackbird located in Seattle’s urban rainforest is one of their latest creations, which hangs about 25-feet high from the ground with support from trees.

The Blackbird treehouse features O2 basket lift that takes in guests through the subfloor docking station. Inside, there is an open floor plan and continuous windows all around to bring in outdoor views and natural light. Cedar wood-paneled ceiling with black trim and LED lights add an amazing essence to the interior space.

The swoops and angles, collapsing front window, and pocket bathroom are some other cool features of the Blackbird treehouse. If you’re looking for tree house design ideas, this project can be of great inspiration to you.

The design team has done thorough work to ensure the trees are in their best health. It has taken care that the engineering of the cable angles including guy lines anchored to the ground and other trees don’t harm their safety and promote longevity.
