Located on the edge of the Zlatý Roh vineyards, Cabin Devín stands out with its remote location and modular prefab architecture. It is a self-sufficient holiday cabin developed by Ark-Shelter, which was named one of the best prefab home manufacturers in 2023. Developed in collaboration with Archekta studio, this studio is designed to blur the boundary between the interior and the surrounding landscape.
The cabin features folding terraces on two sides that let you expand the living space outdoors. You can lower them to reveal sliding glass walls to enjoy the best of the outdoors while sitting inside. This way, the interior space remains in direct contact with the outdoors while also letting in plenty of natural light. You can spot wooden construction inside out, while the unique pitched roof with a skylight further enhances the living experience.
The cabin has an open central living space that connects visually to the outdoors. The sleeping area is located on the loft level to keep the main floor spacious and uncluttered. Even the hidden bathroom behind the kitchen wall is designed to maximize outdoor views.
There is also a large deck to enjoy outside. It is designed as “a place where the landscape isn’t observed from within, but experienced from above.”

Cabin Devín is designed as a vacation rental for couples, individuals, and professionals, looking to spend some time away from fast city life. It is a fenced-in property, which means there will be no neighbors. It is just you and the surrounding nature and wildlife, along with views of Devín Castle with the Alps in the background.
This prefab holiday cabin generates power from a rooftop solar array, along with a gas-powered backup system, notes New Atlas. It is designed to serve as a modular retreat that seamlessly blends into the landscape. You can experience it yourself by renting it for €119 (about US$130) per night from the Cabin Devin official website.
