British brand Cambridge Audio has launched its L/R Series of active stereo speakers designed to provide audiophile-grade sound. Unlike other Hi-Fi systems, it incorporates Class D amplification and a number of connectivity options to ensure quality output, whether you need focused listening or room-filling immersion. Other than this, the speaker lineup features a bold, timeless design to blend into any setting. The L/R Series comprises three models: L/R X, L/R M and L/R S, each catering to different budgets and sound requirements.

Both the L/R X and L/R M utilize the StreamMagic Gen 4 platform for high-resolution Wi-Fi streaming and include the 28mm torus-chambered tweeter. They differ in size, power output, driver size, and inter-speaker connectivity options.  The bigger, L/R X model boasts 800 Watts of total power (2x 400W), dual 5-inch woofers, and larger passive radiators to deliver thumping sound like traditional floorstanding speakers. The L/R M is a more compact, mid-size option with 300 Watts of power (2x 150W) and dual 4-inch woofers. It is like a compact version of the L/R X model, suitable for smaller spaces.

The most notable functional difference between these two models is the method of linking the two speakers. The L/R X uses a high-resolution wireless connection via WiSA HT technology, while the L/R M requires a physical USB-C cable to connect the left and right units.

Finally, the L/R S model is aimed at listeners looking for a more compact, high-end speaker designed for desks, bedrooms, or kitchen counters. It is powered by 100W of optimised Class D amplification with 50W per speaker to deliver clear and expressive sound. This speaker offers Bluetooth aptX HD wireless connectivity and an array of physical connections, including USB Audio support.

Designed and engineered in London, all three models of the L/R series will be available in six colors and finishes. Prices start at $2,299 for the L/R X, $1,599 for the L/R M, and $549 per pair for the L/R S.
