Materials Needed:
- Dollar Tree witch hat
- 6 bunches of fall and maple leaves or oak leaves
- Scissors
- 6 zip ties
- Hot glue gun
- Ping pong ball
- Fall berry picks
- Burlap
- Orange mum flower
Instructions for DIY Fall Gnome Wreath
- Strip down any adornments on the hat so nothing is visible when you add the burlap over it. Then, flip it over and cut off the additional ends of the hat, as they can stick out and make the wreath look unappealing
- Next, lay leaves on the hat however you want. Once you have decided their placement, group them into 2 sections and zip-tie them to the backside of the hat. You can use floral ties alternatively. Just make sure that leaves are below the hat, resembling a gnome’s beard. If the foliage doesn’t look opulent enough, don’t hesitate to add more leaves to make the beard look nice and thick
- It’s time to cover the hat with burlap. Lay a portion of burlap under the hat, add hot glue to the plastic section, and fold the burlap over the cone section. Repeat the process until the entire hat is covered. Don’t forget to firmly press down the burlap to secure it in place
- Now that your hat is covered, add a ping pong ball for the nose and press it firmly onto the foliage. You can also add a cute flower to give it an adorable appearance
Once completed, decorate your door or any bare wall that needs an autumnal touch-up with this eye-catching DIY fall gnome wreath. This will surely brighten the space and amuse passersby and guests.
