Instructions for Rustic Wood Pumpkins DIY Fall Décor

  • Measure the wood scraps and cut them accordingly. First, cut a big piece to go in the middle. Then cut two pieces slightly shorter than the larger one. You can cut as many pieces as you like in descending order
  • Sand the wood scraps with a 120-grit sandpaper. Or, use a sander machine to make things easier
  • Next, glue half of the scrap wood on top of the larger piece in a descending order, flip it over, and repeat. Secure these wood scraps using wood glue; you need to clamp them and leave them to dry completely
  • However, instead of using glue, you can secure them with a nail gun or screws, just to make sure the pieces don’t fall apart
  • Once they are dry, you can paint them with brown and orange colors for a rustic appearance
  • You must let each layer dry completely before applying another coat
  • To achieve a vintage appearance, take some sandpaper and distress the entire pumpkin, more so on the edges and in the crevices
  • To complete the look, add distressed stems with a hot glue gun and tie a jute twine around for a finished appearance

Viola! Your rustic wood pumpkins are ready to spread some holiday cheer around the house. These homemade wood pumpkins will instantly transform your space, inviting seasonal colors, warmth, and the spirit of fall. Happy crafting and Happy Halloween!
