This jerrycan-based portable pizza oven is made by Nicolas Prinz in collaboration with fellow students Manuel Kronfeldner, Lukas Bolesch and Manuel Lippmann from Munich University of Applied Sciences. Dubbed Pizza Canister 1.0, it is a wood-fired pizza oven that can liven up the experience with its immaculate portability.

This DIY wood-fired pizza oven is made from a petrol can that is partitioned into two parts. The upper part with the cap is repurposed as the base for the oven while the lower part serves as the cooking chamber. There is also a stone slab included ensuring a crispy base for the pizza. The stone slab is optimally heated and the pizza on it can be cooked nicely.

The temperature in the oven is raised by the fire that reaches the underside of the pizza stone and deflects from there to the rear. Then it goes on into the upper chamber, over the pizza through the fireplace outside.

The makers have also covered the pizza oven from the outer sides with wood that enhances its look. You can see the full project on Nicolas Prinz website.
