Dreame has shown signs of expanding its smart home portfolio beyond vacuum cleaners at CES 2026, and this approach seems to be getting stronger. Case in point, the new SP09 Pro trash can launched in China, which shows the company’s continuous efforts to enhance household offerings. This particular dustbin provides you with a convenient way to maintain kitchen hygiene and dispose of trash in a sustainable way.

The SP09 Pro comes with an integrated motion sensor that automatically opens the lid when it detects a hand moving toward it. This feature is available in a number of existing trash cans, but this model stands out with its automatic bag dispensing feature. The bin uses suction to pull a fresh liner into place and opens it up around the sides without human intervention.

This battery-powered trash can has a 9-liter capacity, which seems less if you consider the standard size of a kitchen trash can for a family of four that can handle about 2-3 days of waste. This sure means the SP09 Pro is more apt for bedrooms, home office, or smaller kitchens of a family of two, maybe.

It comes with a double-lid design, which helps in avoiding hand contact with the inner bin. There is also press an onboard button to keep the lid open for longer, which will be helpful when you are cleaning the bin.

The trash can features a white plastic body with a gold accent, and measures 347 x 304 x 156 mm (~13.7 x 12.0 x 6.1 inches). Integration of automatic trash bag opening and dispensing makes it easy for you to dispose of trash without manually setting it up, which can save time and prevent your hands from getting dirty.

As noted by T3, the Dreame SP09 Pro Smart Trashcan is available through select Chinese retailers for CNY 329 (around £40/$50). There are no official details on whether it will be available in the USA, just like Dreame’s other smart home products.
