Drew Barrymore is an actress and daytime talk show host. But unbeknownst to us, Drew Barrymore also has a gift for interior design as evidenced by her 280-year-old New York estate, which she recently put up for sale for $5 million. After buying it for $4.4 million in 2024, Drew launched a full-scale restoration project for the 12-acre Westchester County estate in Harrison, New York. She made respectful modern renovations to the 1740s home, keeping its historic soul intact.
What began as a simple country retreat turned into a restoration calling for Drew, where every room has been thoughtfully reimagined for the perfect moment. For her, the home was a more practical alternative to the Hamptons. Only 35 minutes away from Manhattan, the 280-year-old home was closer, easier, and better suited to her schedule when filming The Drew Barrymore Show.
When talking to The Wall Street Journal, Drew says she felt a “spiritual calling” to the property when she first saw it. She says that “Between Pinterest, thrifting, and a can of paint, there’s nothing you can’t do.” The 19 Winfield is a rare legacy estate, and Drew has preserved the authenticity of the property while putting pieces of her quirky and vibrant personality here and there. Apparently, she considered pursuing interior design professionally. Well, she sure enough showed her talent in this project.
Drew worked for two years on the home, extensively renovating it with modern updates while honoring the home’s historic character. The project first started as a cosmetic refresh, turned into a quick hut renovation with major systems – plumbing, HVAC, and heating – being completely replaced. She opened up the interiors, notably the kitchen, taking nearly a year of engineering to rework, and even living there during the process.
After the renovations, the 7,274-square-foot main residence now has an easy, light-filled design flow. The six-bedroom and nine-bathroom home features a dramatic great room with a 30-foot ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows. There is also a series of intimate gathering spaces next to fireplaces, a massive primary suite looking like a private apartment, and dreamy bathrooms with claw-footed tubs.

The outside is equally dreamy with a pastoral mood, wildflower gardens, a freeform heated pool, a guest cottage, a finished pool house, and a gazebo.
As Drew’s family needs shift, she is ready to move on to her next destination and project. The old home is on the market for about $5 million with Compass agents Kori Sassower and Brian K. Lewis holding the listing. This stunning property can be yours if you can fork up that much money. It is so well worth it!
