Helsinki-based designer Rosa Ryhänen favors bold expression and freedom of form and function. Owing to that, she has designed the ‘Form Follows Intuition’ collection of unorthodox furniture, flaunting soft, wavy forms. The collection stands unapologetic against the backdrop of traditional furniture design with its organic forms and spontaneous structures, which look like a child’s scribblings. Her work usually features industrial elements, preferring local production and materials, revolving around the juxtaposition of art and utility.
Exhibiting at 3daysofdesign 2025, the ‘Form Follows Intuition’ collection is crafted using locally sourced wood and CNC-milling to create eclectic shapes. Each furniture piece is structurally unique and explores the spontaneity that arises in industrially produced objects. According to Roosa, they can be beautifully imperfect and exceptionally functional, brimming spaces with timeless essence and bold character. She exhibits that it is possible to display intention and intuition in commercially produced objects.

Sangria Shelf
Sangria shelf stands proud with its organic, spontaneous, and uneven form. The Holiday coffee table features a transparent glass top and curvy, distinctive feet, reminding users of the ocean and white sands that one enjoys during holidays on exotic lands. Designed and made in Helsinki, the table incorporates painted wood. It will bring an edge to any space, elevating it with subtle character and elegance.
Churro Stool
The gentle and curvaceous Churro stool is crafted from painted wood. Its dough-like form invites observation. Roosa describes the stool as a sympathetic creature quietly embracing a corner in a room, dwelling on imperfect curves and lines, and made impressive because of that.
