IKEA Canada made a return to the Interior Design Show (IDS) Toronto 2026, where they presented an immersive kitchen showcase centered around the theme of Cooking & Eating. This 600-square-foot showcase features the SEKTION kitchen system, which includes four distinct functional areas. The standout reveal is the new IKEA TERRSSJÖ Kitchen Doors featuring a wavy texture in a warm terracotta shade, launching in April 2026.
The IKEA SEKTION is a modular and highly customizable kitchen cabinet system known for its affordability and flexibility. It offers a wide variety of sizes, styles, and interior organizers, allowing users to create a personalized kitchen layout. IKEA, known for its Scandinavian aesthetic with lots of white, is now shifting to a more brown color palette for a warm, inviting feel in the kitchen.
The IKEA Canada IDS booth features a main kitchen, highlighting SEKTION’s flexibility and style, a hidden prep kitchen for behind-the-scenes functionality, a walk-in pantry for smart storage and organization, and a dining area with a beverage workstation. The inspiration for two kitchen units came from Thailand and India, where people often have a separate ‘wet’ kitchen and a ‘dry’ kitchen.
The 2026 IKEA SEKTION kitchen features contrasting walnut-look cabinetry to accommodate the oven, beverage station, and walk-in pantry. The fluted cabinet doors are paired with a tile backsplash in a matching shade. On the other hand, the prep area is distinguished by lively wallpaper and includes storage spaces.

The bar/workstation has two Numrerad beverage fridges with Lockebo counters made from 80 percent recycled glass, while open shelving provides space for display. You can also spot Solklint pendants to add a glamorous touch to the space. Other highlights include the Stockholm 2025 dining table and chairs featuring softly rounded corners for an organic look.
