Renowned designer Karim Rashid in collaboration with Haier has come up with the new Kustom Refrigerator. Much like Samsung’s latest Bespoke fridges, this design also focuses on providing homeowners with the flexibility to choose styles for appliances. It also comes with interchangeable front panels to suit different interior settings.
The Kustom Refrigerator brings the convenience of a conventional fridge with options for customizing the product according to personal requirements and lifestyle. Customers can choose from a wide range of materials, including fabrics, leather, wood, and much more. When the look needs alteration – the front panel is effortlessly changeable and you have a fridge matching the color/style of your kitchen.

For this design, Karim was inspired by the fact that most refrigerators are banal with very limited surface materials, and usually have protruding handles. Kustom refrigerator won the Product Design award at the iF Design Award 2021.
