Istanbul-based design brand Uniqka will exhibit the Betsy collection at Milan Design Week 2025. Designed by Lara Bohinc, the collection features unique furniture pieces handcrafted from vegetable-tanned saddle leather. The idea of layering wooden furniture with leather pieces results in an eye-catching, three-dimensional effect.

Inspired by the rhythmic layering of bird feathers, the Betsy collection brings bold, sculptural forms to life through intricate leatherwork. To mimic the same pattern in a contemporary way, artisans cut, treat, and layer each “feather” piece-by-piece onto wooden frames, topped with a selection of colored wood surfaces. The design minimizes waste by using leather off-cuts where possible to create each feather.

The furniture collection is a celebration of craftsmanship, texture, and form, bringing a contemporary yet timeless presence to any space. Its intricate details and bold design make each furniture article a standout piece for the living space.

The Betsy collection comprises five pieces including a coffee table, a side table, a console, a bench, and a standing mirror. Each item seamlessly blends artistry with contemporary design, infusing interiors with the organic charm of nature. Handcrafted with precision in the Istanbul workshop by skilled artisans Kerem Aris and Merve Parnas along with their team, all the pieces display warmth and harmony of the natural world.

The table surfaces are available in a range of materials, including wood, stone, and metal. You can choose from six colors: dark brown, powder pink, rust, black, petrol blue, and spice yellow. The Betsy Collection will be available from April 7, 2025.
