The use of artificial intelligence in getting more common in household appliances and the latest example is from the consumer electronics giant LG that has unveiled an AI-powered air conditioner (AC) for homes. Named ARTCOOL AI Air, this advanced appliance can detect room shape and human presence to provide personalized cooling right where it is needed the most.
Powered by LG’s advanced AI Core-Tech, this residential air conditioner learns from users’ preferences to provide personalized climate control and improved energy efficiency. It utilizes AI-powered climate optimization to create a comfortable living environment in a room.
The AC features an AI Air mode that smartly adjusts airflow strength and direction in real-time according to the room’s layout and positions of the occupants. There are built-in sensors to detect human presence and then adjust the airflow for personalized cooling. You can also remotely monitor and customize airflow settings to meet your preferences with the ThinQ app.
There is also a Window Open Detection feature that switches the AC to energy-saving mode on detecting a sudden change in temperature. Likewise, the Human Detecting Sensor activates energy-saving mode when it finds that the room has been unoccupied for a period of time. In addition, the Sleep Timer+ function regulates temperature and airflow per individual usage patterns.

LG ARTCOOL AI Air comes with AI kW Manager that lets you monitor and control the electricity consumption. You can check real-time power usage data and set up customized energy usage limits to save energy.
Unlike the ARTCOOL Gallery air conditioner that hides behind a 27-inch LCD screen, the latest ARTCOOL AC features a sleek, modern-minimalist design that will fit into any contemporary interior styles. It comes in black mirror glass finish and has a grille made of a series of horizontal bars at its lower edge. The multi-line grille not only complements the reflective black surface but also improves the distribution of airflow. It spreads the airflow to over 180 degrees for a softer and pleasant breeze.
LG ARTCOOL AI Air is designed to deliver personalized comfort along with a sophisticated style and enhanced user convenience. There are no official details about the price and availability yet.
