At CES 2026, the US-based brand Lutron launched its new Caséta smart wood blinds, designed with DIY enthusiasts in mind, looking for connected natural light control. Sporting a classic look, these wooden blinds automatically adjust according to the sun. The blinds utilize your home’s geographic location and the orientation of windows to track the sun throughout the day and adjust window coverings accordingly without manual input.
Lutron has simplified setup with wire-free installation and integration of the mobile app in the process. These smart wood blinds can be installed with just a few screws. You can use the companion mobile app to schedule it to open at sunrise and close at sunset, or create scenes to control multiple devices at once.
All Caséta smart wood blinds come equipped with the Natural Light Optimization (NLO) feature that automatically tilts blinds throughout the day according to the sun’s position. This way, natural light enters your home exactly when and where you need it. For example, in the morning, west-facing blinds might tilt open at the start of the day, then close to shelter from the more direct light of late afternoon, minimizing glare and heat gain. In the evening, blinds can be adjusted for privacy while still allowing filtered natural light into the room. There is also an onboard bottom rail to manually lift or lower the blinds.
Lutron smart hub is required to unlock and use the full smart functionality of the Caséta wood blinds. It works like a central medium that connects the blinds to your home’s network via an Ethernet cable, enabling automation and scheduling features.

You can control the Caséta wood blinds with the Lutron app, Pico smart remotes, or voice assistants. They also work with popular smart home platforms like Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, and Google Home, and even pair with Caséta lighting controls.
The Caséta smart wood blinds are made from real North American Basswood and available in two finishes: painted white and stained walnut to choose from according to personal taste and requirements. The window blinds are also designed to be accessible to more people. They have a flat price of $429 for all blinds sized up to 48″ wide by 80″ high, while wider sizes are available at an additional cost.
