Veteran Italian industrial designer Joe Colombo’s visionary design philosophy is now being re-interpreted with a contemporary twist. For Salone 2026, Italian tapware brand Mamoli has introduced a collection that translates the designer’s experimental concepts into contemporary bathroom fixtures. The collection is part of Mamoli’s Maestri series, paying homage to great masters of Italian design, including Gio Ponti, Alessandro Mendini, and Achille Castiglioni.
The core highlight of the collection is the reinterpreted version of Visiona 1, a three-hole tall spout tap. Its design is simple and smooth with a clean, geometric form. There are no sharp edges or visible joints, so that the body and surface blend in soft, curved shapes. This makes it look like a continuous piece and makes it easier to clean.
The polished, reflective surfaces further enhance the aesthetics. The handles available in either a simple or sculpted version are another distinctive feature of Colombo’s design language.
The collection now includes a wall-mounted version that reinterprets the original three-hole spout design with a custom-made plate. Updated in terms of ergonomics and functionality, it retains a high level of fidelity to the original prototype, translating its concept from the horizontal to the vertical plane. The levers slide within integrated slots, reinterpreting the idea of recessed control into a more accessible and contemporary solution, without betraying the original design.

The 2026 Joe Colombo faucet collection is defined by saturated color accents, highlighting the geometric shapes and “machine for living” aesthetic that Colombo championed. Unlike the experimental prototypes of the past, the 2026 series focuses on polished finishes and seamless surfaces that create a fluid, sculptural form designed for durability and reflection in modern bathrooms.
