The Opus armchair from Turkish brand YAAZ features a decorative form that makes it a cozy centerpiece for any garden or patio. With curves and intricate open weave, this new chair merges structural boldness with poetic detailing. Designed by AngelettiRuzza, it is a high-back outdoor chair, 156 cm in height. The design doesn’t copy nature but reflects its rhythm, inspired by butterfly wings, flowing rivers, and natural asymmetry. The chair blends Italian design elegance with Turkish craftsmanship to create an inviting furniture piece.

The Opus armchair features a distinctive silhouette made of a wide, flaring backrest sweeping upward in a continuous curve, framed in powder-coated aluminum. The frame is further wrapped with rope loops to form a recurring pattern that softens and animates the structure.

Designer Silvana Angeletti describes it as “the flap of a butterfly’s wings conveying lightness, an embracing heart offering protection,” a fusion of sculptural gesture and sensory design.

The Opus chair sits on a broad cone-shaped base, tightly woven to contrast with the more open composition above. It not only offers physical stability but also echoes the textured language of the chair’s upper half. The seat and back cushions are upholstered in textured, weather-resistant fabric to complete the piece with added comfort.

Designed to integrate into outdoor and indoor settings, the Opus chair creates a throne-like focal point or a meditative refuge. The idea was to create “something visually striking, with woven elements flowing smoothly like a winding river or mountain trail,” says Daniele Ruzza. The YAAZ Opus chair pays meticulous attention to detail and construction, with every curve and corner yelling smart design and elegant finish.
