Ohio-based brand Ortal, known for its architecturally-inspired fireplaces, expands its popular suspended Oval series of fireplaces at IBS 2026. The all-new Oval 80 is a direct-vent gas fireplace designed for flexible installation while boasting a floating visual effect. There is a possibility to integrate it into your living room as a wall-mounted or fully suspended unit. Ortal has updated several features, including its size, flame aesthetics, and smart integration.
The Oval 80 fireplace is similar to the previous model, except for the size. The new model has a smaller viewing area measuring 21.6 x 10.5 inches. The heat output is also significantly lower than the previous model, with 18,000 BTU for Natural Gas and 16,000 BTU for Propane. The fireplace uses a 4×6 Co-Axial Direct Vent pipe system to ensure cleaner and more efficient heating. A new Anti-Reflective (AR) glass has been integrated to maximize the view of the fire.
The Oval 80 also incorporates Ortal’s Wilderness burner, which allows the flame to emerge directly from within the log media for a more bonfire-like appearance. The 2026 model also features an upgraded Wi-Fi module, allowing full control via smartphone as well as integration with major smart home automation systems.
The fireplace is also compatible with an updated Heat Control system, which allows users to duct and redirect excess heat to other rooms. The company says it can serve as a heat source for the entire home.
