At IDS Toronto 2026, Moooi unveiled a modular sofa that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also emphasizes comfort and connection. Designed by Yves Behar of Fuseproject, the furniture is designed to foster social interactions and adapt to various activities, moving away from the static nature of traditional sofas.
Born from the idea of longing toward family and friends during times of isolation, this unique modular furniture piece fosters connection, comfort, and play. The Peaks sofa effortlessly transforms through triangular modules that move and rotate to create various lounging settings.
The sofa consists of triangular segments that can be rearranged and rotated to transform the furniture from a low-profile, flat surface to a structured, social, or conventional seating area. Crafted from weatherproof vetta fabric, the sofa is a useful and fun accessory for both indoor gatherings and outdoor parties. So, whether it’s a kids’ playdate or an occasional gathering, the furniture piece effortlessly adapts to both home and hospitality environments.
The sofa offers a cohesive system, shifting from solitary relaxation to a communal setting without the hassle of those loose cushions. The triangular modules rotate to form backrests, armrests, and platforms, catering to various lounging activities and moods. All these modules are linked via hidden zippers and hinges for easy removal and reconfiguration.
