Puffer jackets are a public favorite of the fashion industry for their quilt-like warmth. What if we could get the same warmth in our seats? Czech designer Lucie Koldova decided to bring puffer-like comfort to our homes through furniture. Displayed at the Workspace Design Show Amsterdam 2025, the Puffer collection for Jess Design (Koldova’s design studio) features a Puffer chair, Puffer barstool, and Puffer dining bench.
Inspired by the quilted jacket, which is famously called the puffer jacket in the fashion industry, the collection is designed to evoke a sense of warmth and comfort in the viewer’s mind. It effortlessly translates the airiness of the puffy fabric into carefully crafted furniture, inviting you to seek comfort with its cozy vibes.
All the items in the collection offer a variety of leather options like Bonanza, Aurula, Luxor, Sadie, etc., and fabric options like Porto, Trier, and Archi to choose from to better fit your aesthetic choices and needs. Sustainability is kept at a high priority as the materials used are never thrown out. The residual material is always used to create new designs.
These seats ensure comfortable seating as the puffer material contours the shape of the body and provides maximum softness. The Puffer collection narrates a story of chic relaxation while also enveloping the sitter in style. The design is unusual yet reassuringly familiar.
For the measurements, the Puffer sofa, without the arms, is seven feet wide, three feet deep, and two feet high, with a seat height of one foot. The Puffer barstool, without the arms, has three feet of width, three feet of depth, and two feet of height, with a one-foot-high seat.
Aside from being a fashion piece, the Puffer collection is a comfortable and warm seating option that gives the sitter a playful, enveloping experience.
