Sustainable furniture is made from materials that have certain eco-friendly properties and this chair is perfect example of it. Named Fluit chair, this new sustainable chair is the result of creative collaboration between the Spanish company Actiu and Italian firm Archirivolto Design. It is a linear, stackable chair that can adapt to corporate and hospitality environments.

The uniqueness of the Fluit chair lies in its composition: it is made using 100-percent recycled polypropylene plastic and fiberglass, ensuring a circular and sustainable economy. A Dutch sailing ship from the 16th century has been the inspiration for creating this sustainable chair.

The plastic for the chair is certified post-consumer recycled plastic from the agri-food sector while the fiberglass used for strength is also recycled. Actiu has used gas injection that reinforces resistance and provides a delicate finish. In addition, Fluit’s production process is based on the local economy following Actiu’s philosophy.

There is also an option to include a padded cushion which is available in a wide range of trendy color combinations. Fluit chair represents Actiu’s new step to follow its sustainability strategy.
