Many interactive robots have had attendees gushing over them at CES 2025. After the adorable Mirumi by Yukai Engineering, Loona, and Mi-Mo, it’s time now to get acquainted with a hyper-realistic, AI-powered robotic puppy called Jennie. Designed by the US robotics company Tombot, it is an emotional support robotic pet for seniors suffering from cognitive impairments, general health adversities, or loneliness.
The adorable Jennie is primarily created to provide dementia patients with care and comfort. Tombot’s CEO Tom Stevens was struck with the idea of a robot puppy after his mother’s dementia, who could no longer tend to her pet. Thus Jennie “A pet for people who cannot have pets” was born.
Tombot robotic puppy resembles a lounged Labrador Retriever puppy. It’s embedded with touch sensors all over the body that allow Jennie to react based on where and how she is touched. Whereas an AI-integrated voice activation software assures that the puppy responds to your commands in the sound of a 12-week-old Labrador. According to Tombot, “If you command Jeannie to speak, she will bark for you.”
Jennie looks and acts like a real dog and serves as a companion for the elderly helping them cope with cognitive challenges such as depression, loneliness, stress, and anxiety. She is rechargeable and lasts for an entire day of fun with an overnight charge. The best thing is that you can name it, customize it, and track your daily user interactions through a seamless integration with an app on your phone.

Tombot claims the robotic puppy is constantly evolving with new updates, such as refined commands and actions, to make it competent enough to serve in hospitals and other care facilities. These features can be effortlessly updated through the app. The company is striving for FDA approval for the robotic pet which does not have any details about its pricing and availability at the time of writing.
