French fashion house Saint Laurent will be showcasing exclusive furniture pieces by famous designer Charlotte Perriand at Milan Design Week 2025. Previously available only as sketches or unique editions, these iconic pieces from 1943-63, selected by Anthony Vaccarello, will be reproduced and reissued in limited editions. These will be publicly exhibited for the first time at the Saint Laurent-Charlotte Perriand exhibition at the Visconti Pavilion in Milan.

The first standout design is an armchair that consists of a chromed tubular frame with a rosewood seat and backrest, along with a traditional Thai cushion. Another is a bookcase that was originally crafted for Perriand’s husband. Its structure is made from solid Brazilian rosewood and comes with sliding doors of woven cane inspired by traditional Brazilian homes.

There will also be a table featuring a layered design. The table consists of ten superimposed layers of rosewood and cherrywood that form concentric circles on its beveled, recessed top.

Lastly, we have a unique 5-seater sofa designed for the residence of Japan’s ambassador in Paris. It is now crafted from rosewood, cane, and Jim Thompson Thai silk. Commissioned by architect Junzô Takakura, the large sofa was envisioned by Perriand to appear as though it were floating. It features an extended over-seven-meter-long base that is curved upwards at both ends.

Charlotte Perriand was a popular name in the French design industry and she also collaborated with Le Corbusier. Her reissued furniture pieces keep her radical approach alive. These limited-edition pieces will be available on a made-to-order basis. ⁣
