There is no doubt that filthy shipping containers can be transformed into lavish homes; it all depends on the creativity and investment you put into them. We have featured several container homes before, and today we bring another great build. Dubbed Seaholme, it is a tiny house designed and built by Modulate, in collaboration with Baldwin Building Group, using two widened containers. The innovative design and space-saving features ensure every inch of the home is utilized effectively, while the use of recycled materials and energy-efficient features contributes to a sustainable living environment.

The containers are covered in timber-look composite cladding made from 60 percent recycled timber and 40 percent recycled plastics that provides a maintenance-free exterior. Each container measures 6 x 3.5 meters (19.8 x 11.6 feet) and has been arranged in an L shape that creates a lovely deck space at the back. The roof extends out the front, creating an awning and a single carport.

One of the containers has the living/kitchen area, while the other one has the bedroom and bathroom. Neither container is connected from inside; they have separate doors outside. The main living area has a large glass sliding door that provides uninterrupted outside views and provides access to the deck.

This area has a sofa, an indoor-outdoor dining table, and plenty of storage with hidden cupboards. The custom kitchen is equipped with a stone countertop, an induction cooktop and oven, a slide-out pantry, a hidden fridge/freezer, a sink, oak shelves, and a tiled backsplash. There is also a serving window that connects to a table and bench seating area outside on the porch.

The second container houses the bedroom featuring a double bed and a full-height wardrobe, overhead storage, and a built-in desk with shelves for a work-from-home setup. The bathroom is spacious and is built with accessibility in mind, with features like a 920mm wide door, a high-set toilet, and a grab rail. It has a large wet room/shower, toilet, and laundry area.

There are no details about pricing and availability of the Seaholme shipping container tiny home at the time of writing, but you can check out its features and space in the video below.
