Halloween is the only festival when people love to go to extreme lengths to make their house look the most haunted. The example of such extremities is a couple in South Carolina, who decorated their home with faux flames and smoke, prompting neighbors to call the fire department. And now we have an extremely gigantic spider, which glows in the dark, hanging from a web at the entrance of Clint Schleicher’s house. It is the coolest prop we have ever seen, and it’s hard to disagree.

This enormous prop haunts the entrance of the house and leaves people astonished every time they pass by it. After all, who wouldn’t, right? The sight is truly jaw-dropping, almost looks like a scene from a sci-fi movie.

In the daytime, it’s just another display. However, the real show begins at night when it comes alive with dramatic lighting, neon paint, and bubbles that resemble the spider’s eggs, and a fog machine. To up the level of creepiness, Schleicher also used the projection effect of spiders crawling out of the wall and animation from AtmosFX.

He bought the spider from Home Depot and webbing from Amazon. However, the real challenge was to suspend this heavy prop mid-air on a webbing so that it doesn’t fall.

Clint had two cables running on each side of the entrance. He pushed each of these cables into the hook at the top of the brick mortar. Then, he bought heavy-duty ground support screws and attached them to the ground. For better support in the middle, Clint had two cables going side to side. For the last step, he had to put a bungee strap over the prop to keep it balanced.

After all the efforts, he managed to put up the best spider display on the block. Clint’s Facebook followers have showered him with love and amazement at this Halloween display. One Facebook user even commented, “And the Coolest House on the block award goes to you.”

At night, the spider’s eyes glow and stare down at your soul as you walk by. Not to mention, the purple and blue LED lights, the web with big holes, and bubbles and mist, creating a brooding effect.

This is what Halloween is all about: going beyond the limits and creating something unforgettable. Thanks to Clint Schleicher for bringing this wickedly cool spider Halloween display to life.
