Dutch health-centered technology startup SunLED Life Science has developed an innovative gadget that helps you get the systematic benefits of sunlight indoors. This webcam-sized gadget clips onto a laptop or PC monitor to flood near-infrared light to users while they work. It uses patented LED technology to emit invisible near-infrared light, which is mostly absent in indoor environments. This device turns screen time from an energy drain to a wellness gain.
Sunlight coming into your home through a window lacks near-infrared (NIR) light, and this is where SunBooster comes into play. Most working people have to spend most time indoors, so this device can be a great solution for them. Powered by a standard USB-C connection, this device attaches to computer monitors or laptops and delivers NIR light to users while they work, study, or browse the web. Depending on the laptop model, SunBooster uses approximately 20-30% of the battery’s capacity during the 2 to 4 hours required for a full session.

Developed with more than six years of R&D in collaboration with leading institutions and universities, SunBooster’s proprietary technology uses positive photobiomodulation and brings healthy NIR light indoors. The device uses onboard sensors for auto activation and is equipped with three 850 nm near-infrared LEDs to deliver NIR light using narrow-beam optics. SunBooster mimics the natural, UV-free portion of sunlight that is said to provide a refreshing and supportive effect. You can also track your weekly NIR light exposure with the onboard screen.
SunLED says, SunBooster’s NIR light can help you feel more energetic, improve your mood, and support your body during dark winter days. This device is designed to work without a data connection for ease of use and privacy.
SunBooster has received the 2025 IFA Innovation Award in the Digital Health category. Its SLS2000 model is currently available to pre-order for a price of €199 (approximately $230) from the official SunLED website.
