At the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) during NYCxDesign 2025, North Carolina-based furniture company Bernhardt Design and California-based product designer Cory Grosser debuted their Sunset furniture collection. The Sunset collection is a modular series of sofas and lounges designed by Grosser with a hint of Californian spirit.

According to the designer, the collection pays homage to California’s Sunset Strip with the spirit of the ’60s and ’70s, merging vintage with contemporary. The Sunset collection includes a free-standing lounge, modular and free-standing modules, and connecting corners. One of the highlighting aspects of the collection is the large, curvy corners, emphasizing its visual appeal with a hint of boldness.

Not only this, plush seat cushions evoke a feeling of nostalgia, whereas its laid-back feel and precision tailoring an indicative of today’s craftsmanship. Each piece in the collection is supported by a black plinth base. There are back and backless versions, allowing you to create varied arrangements without taking up much space.

All the pieces in the collection are upholstered with many customizable options for the seat and the back. It is also available in distinct sizes, which include modules, left and right-facing units, and corner connectors, as well as a variety of contrasting textiles.  

Since the collection is modular, each piece can be an eye-catching standalone or combined with others to create different configurations, adapting to various interior settings for a visually powerful and inviting space. It is all about immaculate craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtful design, drawing inspiration from the outdoor world. The Sunset collection echoes that spirit quite fearlessly.
