SwitchBot, famous for its innovative, retrofit-style smart home devices, has launched its “SwitchBot Smart Video Doorbell” on Amazon. First showcased at CES 2025, the smart video doorbell is designed to improve home security and accessibility. This is possible courtesy of a suite of advanced features that the doorbell is equipped with.
This primarily includes a large indoor monitor for easy interaction. This 4.3-inch ultra-large display allows users to hear chimes, view visitors, and engage in two-way audio communication with user-friendly buttons, making it ideal for elders, children, or those living alone.
“The system supports three-way intercom functionality through the indoor monitor, the SwitchBot App, or Echo Show devices,” the company informs. It also includes a 100dB ringer and a Quick Response feature for instant, clear communication with visitors, ensuring convenience and safety for all household members.
The doorbell itself boasts 2K resolution, color night vision, and a 165-degree wide-angle lens for clear monitoring, even in low-light conditions. Its AI-powered detection identifies motion, people, pets, and vehicles, sending real-time alerts to the app. As per the makers, “The device is powered by a 5000mAh lithium battery that offers 6 to 19 months of use per charge.” Not to mention, a Type-C port that simplifies recharging, and an optional solar panel that ensures continuous power for worry-free operation.
Other features include 4GB of built-in storage, expandable to 512GB via microSD, eliminating subscription fees. It supports RTSP protocol and Home Assistant integration (with additional setup), enabling local streaming without third-party servers. SwitchBot’s EdgeLink System ensures the doorbell and monitor stay connected even during Wi-Fi outages, maintaining uninterrupted video communication. Flexible installation options include drill-free adhesive or screw mounting, with IP65-rated durability for indoor and outdoor use.
The doorbell integrates seamlessly with SwitchBot’s ecosystem, supporting door unlocking via the SwitchBot NFC Card, Wallet Finder Card, or Safety Alarm. It also serves as a light Matter gateway for SwitchBot locks, streamlining entry management.
