Tacchini, an Italian family-owned business behind reissues of many iconic Italian furniture designs has recently reissued the Pigreco chair designed initially by Italian architect Tobia Scarpa in 1959. It was created as a graduation project at the end of his architecture studies at the University of Venice.
Inspired by a triangular shape, Scarpa wanted to create a chair that could express a “sense of space” in order to represent the concept of dynamism in the product. The Pigreco chair is composed of four legs, two of which are on the back close together. It has a minimalist low backrest positioned directly on the load-bearing elements, sporting a curved and enveloping shape.
In this chair, the technical and stylistic features sport a unique lightness in which nothing is revealed but everything is explicit. Tacchini has made this new edition available in new finishes and materials so that it can seamlessly fit into contemporary homes.

Tacchini has reissued the Pigreco chair in Canaletto walnut and ash wood while the upholstered cushion is available with a leather or fabric cover.
