Born from the idea of constant reconstruction, an armchair by CHENDARUI STUDIO will be showcased at the Maison&Objet fair this year. Designed by Chen Durai, the C-101-China chair has arisen from the idea of demolishing classic proportions and reconstructing them to build an aesthetic result.

Complex in its looks, the chair compels the viewer to think of how the designer has taken a break from the usual geometry and given the furniture an innovative look. The chair challenges traditional furniture forms while also elevating functionality. More than just a chair, it is thus an artistic discourse that uplifts the aesthetics of any space.

The C-101-China chair appears to be an art project, combining asymmetry with structural clarity. It is said to offer a phenomenal seating experience, maintaining its functional purpose. The chair is made from oak wood and comes in two exciting color options: black and red lacquer. Talking about the dimensions, it measures 27 x 27 x 26 inches and is available in a limited edition of only 199 units.

Following the philosophy of ‘less is more’, the chair is quite lightweight in spite of its complex, structural form. It is a blend of intersecting lines and angular planes, showcasing its architectural presence.

Durai has given the functional structure a new and innovative life while exposing its prime form. Just like his other works, the chair blends innovation without any disrespect toward tradition.
