With Salone del Mobile right around the corner, we expect a myriad of announcements from design studios and manufacturers who’d be hoping to garner attention prior to the fest. It has been a trend over the years that big design studies reveal their products right before Milan Design Week commences. Cashing on the trend is the renowned Italian luxury furniture manufacturer Giorgetti which is all set to exhibit its brand new furniture collection dubbed ‘Woody and Mia’ at the furniture fair.

The collection gets its name from two products; Woody- a sinuous pouf, and Mia- a piece that functions as a coffee table. Boasting high-end craftsmanship and contemporary design with an unmistakable style, both pieces are designed to be the focal point of your living room.

The coffee table features a flat top and a solid base. One element of the table that elevates its status to one of the finest furniture designs, is its rounded corners, which Wallpaper refers to as ‘a contouring that showcases Giorgetti’s expertise in carpentry.’

However, the real talking point of the furniture is the expertly crafted curving inlet at one corner of the table. The particular inlet is designed to nestle the ‘Woody’ pouf without any hassle. Referring to this aspect of the design, the studio mentions, “The collection embodies two distinct narratives, which share and are linked by a common trait.”

This brings us to the counterpart of the coffee table. Upholstered in fabric or leather, Woody is a pouf that fits in like a jigsaw puzzle with the Mia coffee table. As per the studio, “Woody is characterized by its fullness and its sinuous, irregular silhouette, designed to flawlessly align, like two pieces of a puzzle, with Mia.” Additionally, the pouf is available in a side table version and comes in a marble top finish. There is no word on the price and availability yet, and more would be clear once the Salone del Mobile begins.
