Have you ever thought of getting a lamp for your house made from real bread? I don’t think any of us ever thought of it, but a Japan-based female designer, Yukiko Morita actually created bread lamps for foodie people, who want to decorate their home with food-inspired decorative elements.

The designer actually created her Pampshade collection of bread lamps to be showcased in maison et objet fall 2017 (an international interior designer fair held in September in Paris). Her collection comprises of seven appealing lamp designs, which are simply alluring, and can add unforgettable charm to any modern living space and kitchenette.

Seeing the designs, if you are wondering how she handcrafted them very beautifully using bread? Then let us tell you that creating them was a fun time for her. She simply shaped A few breads and pastries using a traditional method by mixing the flour, salt, and yeast. After giving desired shapes, she put them into the oven to let them bake properly.

Once out of the oven, she carefully craved breads as thinly as possible to let light cross across the surface. After that, she coated the breads with a layer of resin to prevent them from decaying process. Once done, she set up electrical circuit, LEDs and a battery inside each one of them (according to the bread’s design and shape), and gave a final check to each lamp’s functionality.

People who love having bread for breakfast will surely love these lamps, and they can buy them (limited time sale from 14 to 25 September) for price a tag ranging from ¥ 7,670 – ¥ 20,410 (approx. $1174 – $3126 USD).
