I’ve been wanting a full home gym setup for quite some time, but finding the right one is easier said than done. Most options online are either too specialized or too expensive. Brands like JOYSONG and RITFIT have tried to bridge the gap, but the former presumably went out of business, and the machines coming from the latter’s foundry take up more space than two TonerBox home gyms combined. This is where the AEKE S1 Pro home gym sees an opportunity to enter the frame.
If the name sounds familiar, it is because AEKE previously ran a successful Kickstarter campaign for the K1 Smart Gym, a foldable, mirror-finish machine with a 43-inch 4K touchscreen, real-time motion tracking, and over 140 guided workout courses. Off the back of that success, the company is now back with the S1 Pro, currently live on Kickstarter.
AEKE describes it as an “all-in-one setup for squats, rows, presses, and rotations,” without turning your living room into a commercial gym. Standing 6.06 feet tall, the AEKE S1 Pro features a massive 27-inch FHD LCD touchscreen that serves as an interactive, AI-powered command center and digital coach for your home workout. The whole unit folds down to a 3.2 square-foot footprint, which is practical for smaller living spaces.
The brand touts that S1 Pro is designed to replace 23 traditional gym machines covering strength, cardio, mobility, flexibility, and rehabilitation-style movements. To stand by its claim, the company highlights an array of features the AEKE S1 Pro boasts. To start with, the AEKE S1 Pro features a built-in precision camera that tracks 42 skeletal points in real time to analyse posture, trajectory, and tempo, and provides real-time feedback to the user. “Based on your performance, the system can recommend training plans, adjust intensity, suggest optimal resistance, and automatically track long-term progress,” the brand states.
The S1 Pro delivers up to 220 lbs of total digital resistance (110 lbs per arm) and offers multiple resistance modes, including constant, concentric, eccentric, rowing, and elastic. Not to mention, three-direction adjustable arms that can move up, down, side-to-side, and at various widths, giving the user the unmatched versatility for strengthening almost any muscle group. That said, S1 Pro reportedly offers over 389 custom exercises to the user.
As detailed on the company’s website, the S1 Pro supports compound lifts, cable-based movements, accessory training, and conditioning, all readily available in one integrated system. The only major missing feature at this stage is a sparring partner, a feature Growl included in its AI fitness training machine.
Unlike modern smart home gyms that ask for a hefty monthly subscription fee, the S1 Pro offers lifetime access to all training programs, AI features, and your progress data without any pesky recurring monthly or annual membership fees. The company states that over 165 expert-led programs are included with the one-time purchase, and there are no ongoing subscription fees.
Interested can back the AEKE S1 Pro on Kickstarter at a Super Early Bird price of $3,299, which is 34 percent off its retail price of $5,000. It’s still not cheap, but considering everything in the box, the price starts to make sense. The included accessory package features a foldable bench, smart grips, cross-bar, ankle straps, triceps rope, heart rate armband, and a smart scale, making it a complete setup straight out of the box.
