Basecamp is one of the lightest and smallest travel trailers from Airstream that allows travelers to enjoy outdoors without sacrificing the comforts of home. This 16-feet travel trailer has a kitchen and dining nook, a bathroom with shower, and a comfortable bed. Lately, the company has introduced its 2020 Basecamp model with improved features and interior settings.
First of all, Basecamp gets a new interior decor: the enchanting green of Forest Ridge. Inspired by the outdoors, it features emerald green and gray seating with contrasting yellow accents in the seat stitching and overhead bars. The existing Glacier Lake decor is also upgraded with a gray diamond pattern with orange stitching on the seats, as well as orange overhead bars.
There is also a new tent system available for the 2020 Basecamp model. It attaches to Basecamp’s curbside in order to expand living and storage space. The tent attachment is built using air-filled structural tubes and an inflatable support structure. Installation is as easy – you just need to slide the top of the tent into a specially-designed rail and inflate the tent with the provided pump.
Apart from Basecamp’s new interior decor, the living space is also improved. Split seating design is incorporated that allows for more seating configurations. You can set up two seats, one seat, a full bed or a half bed easily. Additionally, you can also set up the table without changing the rear part of the bed.
The tables in Basecamp are also improved for effortless conversion. A new quick-release latch and new floor pucks make converting from a seating area into a bed easier. Moreover, a number of hooks are strategically placed around the interior of Basecamp to provide more space to hang coats, towels, clothing, and gear.

Lastly, Basecamp’s back door is equipped with a new latch that will ensure the door stays open even in strong breezes, allowing you to get in and out, and enjoy views of the surrounding.
The Airstream Basecamp will now be available in more interior options and other useful upgrades. Many of the interior design improvements are made according to the existing owners’ feedback.
