Would you believe stripping the lavish stainless coating off a €27,000 (approx. $37,000) refrigerator could make it the most expensive fridge ever? That’s exactly what has transpired from the collaboration of Sub-Zero and Wolf with exceptional young Berlin-based artist, Christian Awe. Christian has used giant PRO48 refrigerator as a canvas and painted it with spray paints, acrylic and inks and then adding small pebbles to it has made it a masterpiece you’d love to take home this Christmas despite the supper cool price.

The refrigerators are extremely exclusive, only ten of the uniquely decorated fridges are available for purchase. Before Awe’s “Cool as Ice” painting could be done, the fridges’ were treated with acids, sanded and stripped off the authentic stainless steel cover (since it was difficult to paint on it). Price of the painted fridge is available on request, but the extraordinary appliance is estimated to cost around €64,000 (approx. $88,000).One of the most expensive fridge’s in the world, the Awe-painted fridge is on display at the Alsterhaus in Hamburg, Germany.
