After centuries of civilization, we humans remain slaves to the precious square footage of our homes. While we have found ways to maximize space everywhere, the bulky bathroom fixtures make it impossible to do so in this particular area of the house.

The biggest hurdle is the toilet, which, despite countless design modifications over the past decades, remains a gaudy fixture, that is, until now. Barcelona-based bathroom brand Roca has launched the Avant toilet, an innovative design that integrates the cistern within the bowl to free up space and enhance the aesthetics. Roca reimagines the most utilitarian elements of the home to elevate user experience and merge daily routine with the demands of a sustainable environment.

The Roca Avant toilet features a low-consumption dual flush system with silent technology. It is an all-in-one toilet solution that leverages a minimal aesthetic better suited to a variety of bathroom layouts and styles. By removing the external flush tank, the new toilet simplifies plumbing installation, reduces depth, flush noise, and offers a more efficient user experience in both large and small bathrooms.

The toilet is available in both electric and non-electric models for sleek design and enhanced practicality. It comes in floor-standing and wall-mounted versions, and takes up 20 cm less space than conventional toilets. Prioritizing safety and precision paired with flexible, user-friendly solutions, the new toilet translates the brand’s goal of providing a clutter-free aesthetic through functional reality.

The Avant toilet’s integrated system applies the Venturi effect, a physical principle that uses variable water flow speeds to create a natural suction effect. This engineering solution results in a faster and more efficient flush, 15 percent quieter than the standard fixture.

Designed for its technical versatility, the Avant offers a practical solution in various bathroom environments. The Avant-E electric version ensures consistent performance for environments with inadequate water pressure.

But its flushing technology isn’t the only thing that makes this toilet worth your money. To complement its internal mechanism, the Avant integrates the Roca Rimless Vortex system for splash-free hygiene and a Supraglaze finish to prevent particle build-up.

The Roca Avant toilet is perfect for people who want to maximize their bathroom footprint with a compact fixture. The toilet is on display at this year’s Salone del Mobile, if you wish to see its mechanisms before making a purchase.
