What do you do when you want a 360-degree view of the world around you from your terrace? Well, if you are Belgian businessman Patrick Mets, then you buy an old water tower and convert it into a 100ft high single family home. Pretty bored by is average home, Mets hired Brussels based architecture firm Bham Design Studio to convert a useless water tower (simply known as Chateau d’eau) into an amazing home for himself. The tower originally built back in the late 1930s was completely overhauled from inside and outside.
Located in the small Belgian village of Steenokkerzeel, the tower home features two bedrooms, a living/multifunction room, modern kitchen, bathroom, specially made cat lair and a garage for two cars. The house has custom designed staircase leading all the way to the rooftop terrace, wherefrom the family can enjoy a panoramic view of the Steenokkerzeel village.
