The New Year brings a new surge of lighting designs to Maison&Objet. For 2026, Paris’s flagship international design fair transformed the city of lights into a celestial playground of poetic, playful, and monumental lighting. Celebrating different facets and phases of light and how it responds to the environment it inhabits, the event reverberated under the theme of ‘Past Reveals Future.’
The theme focused on lighting grounded in traditional craftsmanship, natural elements, and contemporary aesthetics. As the event comes to an end, we appreciate the lights that set the tone for the year ahead. From handheld lights and wall lamps to the most ornamental fixtures, we have curated a list of the best lighting designs we saw at Maison&Objet 2026. Take a look below:
YURAGI LIGHT Series by Japanese brand Ando
The YURAGI LIGHT series is a beguiling combination of Japanese bentwood craft and washi paper. Crafted by Japanese brand Ando, each lamp in the series has witnessed years of craftsmanship and is a labor of love, rooted in 100 years of Japanese crafting tradition. The use of hinoki cypress gives the lamps their shape using bentwood technique, whereas the washi tape is added from within for a whimsical appearance. The series includes three lovely variants – HINATA, ARARE, and UKIZUKI – available in different sizes and shapes, offering a serene and soft glow to the most peaceful moments of your life. The lamps are portable and recharge via USB.
Transcendence 2 by Ango
The Transcendence 2 resembles a luminous, floating cloud. It is handcrafted in Thailand in Ango’s signature composite of mulberry tree bark fibre and recycled fishing-net material. The wavy shape of the diffuser is entirely handmade, resulting in irregular patterns and elegant faux lines. It appears to be weightless, almost paper-thin, as it hangs from the ceiling. There are twin LED filament bulbs that gently diffuse light from within, adding layers of pigmented, atmospheric glow.
Ballpoint Pendant Lamp by Seletti and Mario Paroli
Transforming everyday objects into useful and practical products is a regular thing for the Italian brand Seletti. This time for Maison&Objet, the designer took things beyond our imagination and transformed a vintage BIC Cristal ballpoint pen into a mesmerizing pendant lamp, celebrating the 75th anniversary of this iconic pen. The BIC lamp is a scaled version of the iconic ballpoint pen in a ratio of 12:1. The pendant lamp is made from meticulously crafted material and is integrated with modern LEDs for illumination. The design of the lamp features a transparent barrel with a cap on one end, whereas the ink has been replaced with a light tube, brightening the space in a whimsical glow.
Ollo Lamp by BOMMA and Václav Mlynář
The Ollo lamp is distinguished by a hand-shaped, translucent glass ring that mimics the captivating beauty of the elements of the universe. The transparent ring of the lamp is crafted using traditional Bohemian techniques. There is an illumination at the center of the ring described as a tiny sun, around which the glass structure revolves. The lamp has two elements: a bright and shiny cylindrical body and the glass ring that tops the cylindrical element. The intensity of the light can be adjusted from 1850K to 4000K according to your requirements.
Erreur 404 Lamp by James Haywood Atelier
The Erreur 404 lamp is crafted from concrete, making it sculptural and distinctive. The lamp has a refined silhouette, which is the result of concrete, crushed oyster eggshells, and natural pigment. According to the designer, the lamp is an outcome of four years of working with materials and shapes. After 300 pieces, the designer succeeded in creating sculptural lamps in different sizes. Handmade in France, the plug and the base of the lamp are individually 3D printed using bronze and coconut filaments. The lamp is also outfitted with a cold white G9 bulb for illumination.
Nomad II Ceramic Lamp by Sofia Karnukaeva
In this Nomad II ceramic lamp, natural motifs of nests, beehives, or caves take shape of sculptural forms. Related to the theme of home, the light is designed to illuminate semi-dark spaces. The Nomad II is associated with both bodily and zoomorphic shapes. This ceramic lamp is crafted using the hand-sculpting technique with stoneware, exhibiting the beauty of raw, organic texture. The light is a symbol of a home, a private space, where tranquility, peace, safety, and warmth reside.
Bocca pendant lamp No. 1 by Morgane Binet
Described as an invitation to stay still and contemplate, the Bocca pendant lamp No.1 is elegant, light, and captivating. It is made from limited sheets of oak veneer and finished in natural oil, bringing a natural and organic touch to your interior spaces. Weighing around 1.5 kilograms, the silhouette of the light delivers a contemporary design, which leaves a lasting impact. The pendant light enriches the space with its subtle and organic presence. It is neither fixed nor restrained, allowing the wood to shift gently with the weather changes, making each piece move, evolve, and breathe over time.
Mezza Luce by Barbara Billoud
The Mezza Luce light stands out for its unique composition, radiance, and finely-shaped porcelain petals. The light is entirely malleable, adapting to your needs and the ambiance of the space. It can go from an all-embracing installation covering an extensive section of the wall to the most decent and small size, without affecting the beauty and luminance of the porcelain leaves. Each petal is handcrafted to be distinctive from the others. These petals can also be modified or fixed on wood or plastic materials, Plexiglas, and acryl etc.
Sculptural Table Lamp by Case Studios
This table lamp has three brushed stainless steel fragments creating a playful combination of light, shadow, and reflections. In between these stainless steel parts, there is an exchangeable light source, perched on a thick concrete base. Each stainless steel fragment is different in shape and look, and replicates modern forms combined with deconstructed edges.
Ascending Lamp by Victor Wong
The Ascending Lamp is artistic and redefines modern lighting. The light has a layered and dynamic cloud-shaped design, which elevates the spirit and gives rise to new emotions. The lamp’s design captures movement and flow, creating a balance between shadow and light. Visually appealing, the lamp is uplifted by a handmade wooden stand, making it stunning for spaces looking to create a balance between old-style grace and contemporary aesthetic.
