Last year, a Barcelona-based company launched biodegradable Bios Urn and Bios Incube, the world’s first incubator for after life to help people grow trees from ashes of their loved ones who have passed away. After successful funding on Kickstarter, the smart tree incubator is now available for purchase.

The Bios Incube has been designed for urban dwellers with limited access to natural land for traditional burials. Providing a smart alternative to traditional burials, this advanced tree incubator intersects nature with technology. The Bios Urn and Bios Incube work in conjunction with one another to grow plants from the cremated remains of your loved ones.

The biodegradable urn is meant to be planted within the Incube. The sensor-equipped Incube comes with a smartphone app that connects with Wi-Fi to let you monitor the plant growth while providing easy maintenance tips. The Incube is also integrated with a self-watering system that can be triggered by the sensor attached to soils’ surface. Water remains within the Incube and releases homogeneously around the seeds or plant roots to provide sufficient hydration. It can keep plants hydrated for up to 20 days.

Furthermore, it can analyze soil data such as the temperature of surrounding soil, soil moisture, and the amount of fertilizer present in the soil. Besides keeping the soil environment in check, the smart incubator also keeps the tab on indoor environment of your house. It is equipped with air and humidity sensors that optimize environmental conditions of your surroundings to provide you with perfect atmosphere.

The smart tree incubator system can be purchased from the company’s official website. Bios Urn for people and pets with Incube is available for $595, and with Incube + it is priced at $695, with additional shipping charges. However, if you just want to purchase the biodegradable Bios Urn, then you just have to pay $145, plus shipping charges. Alongside the tree incubator, you can also choose from a number of trees suitable for different geographical regions.
