In a very short time, Birdfy has established itself as a superior maker of bird feeders. A fan-favorite for its sturdy and durable builds, high-resolution picture and video capabilities, Birdfy is now adding another feather to its hat. It has released the Metal 2, a next-gen flagship in its durable all-metal smart bird feeder series.
The new Birdfy Metal 2 4K is an upgraded version of its camera-equipped metal feeder with an enhanced camera that brings you even closer to nature. The most significant addition, however, is that Metal 2 doesn’t direct you to a knowledge base about the bird species it recognizes. Instead, it recognizes over 6,000 species and leverages AI to give you a summary of facts and insights about a particular bird.
With its 1.8-liter stockpile of seeds, the new smart bird feeder allows you to enjoy the shenanigans of various winged creatures that’ll come to your yard. The new bird feeder has a 4K wide-angle camera, a big upgrade from the original 1080p camera, for capturing and streaming high-resolution videos.
The bird feeder comes with dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz) with a 3dBi external antenna for connectivity, while including Bluetooth-assisted pairing. It features an adaptive full-color and black-and-white night vision to keep you informed in all conditions. Moreover, it offers versatile mounting options, including a new-pole mount adaptor for placement flexibility.
The new metal bird feeder bears design similarities to its predecessor, but now flaunts a chew-proof design so the squirrels can’t get to it. The metal panels are also resistant to scratches, rust, and weather.

As for the non-metal parts, multiple see-through windows on the front and sides let you check seed levels inside at any point. There is also a beech wood perch that birds can grab with their claws while they partake in whatever seeds or bird feed you have on tap.
The Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K is now available for purchase for $229.99, a $70 discount from its retail price of $299.99. You will, however, need to pay an optional monthly or annual subscription to access the brand’s AI-powered Birdfy OrniSense system, previously seen in the Hum Bloom hummingbird feeder, launched at CES 2026.
