We keep seeing wonderful creations by established brands in collaboration with respected designers with maximum creative freedom. Thereby resulting in well-sought-out furniture pieces that are practical and aesthetically pleasing. On the same lines Carlos Guijarro, a Berlin-based industrial designer has created the Boira modular outdoor sofa for a brand called Musola. The furniture is created using premium Iroko wood, and has additional accessories that go well with this outdoor seating object.

The design of the Boira outdoor sofa stemmed from the ideation that there could be some exploration when it comes to proportions and geometries. The designer wanted to create a sense of harmony, so that the seating object comforts users and they forget to leave the comfortable zone formed for their respite. This was achieved using an interplay of robust Iroko wood with precisely calibrated foam that forms both base and back cushions to fit seamlessly into the seating haven by Musola.

To offer versatility, multiple modules are formed that can be combined in various configurations which is great when creating outdoor modular furniture. It allows users to mix and match different patterns to break the monotony of a singular design. This is the reason why modular furniture is so popular nowadays.

There is a core piece that acts as the focal point of all possible installations with this modular sofa. The corner, side pieces, and left and right modular pave the way for a nice seating arrangement that doesn’t disrupt multiple users’ experience – virtually letting them interchange seats when required.

That’s not it – three additional modules give the aesthetic design appeal to the Boira modular outdoor sofa. It even has a provision for a coffee table in one of its modules when the cushion is not fitted. This way it becomes a multi-tasking furniture and allows users to enjoy their tea or coffee while sitting outside in the open. This utilitarian sofa will be showcased at Salone del Mobile and will surely impress a lot of furniture enthusiasts.
