What do you get for an exorbitant price tag of $148,500? You can procure an exquisite tiny house by Acorn Tiny Homes. Yes, you can even get your hands on three Rolls-Royce Cellarettes that will embellish the interior of your house. Why not a Z-chair by Zaha Hadid? Bleh… the last one might just get a little over budget. So, how about a Bowlus teardrop trailer? Most of you would say, hell no, but Geneva Long (CEO of Bowlus Tiny Homes) has just made that happen. You would be amazed to hear that Bowlus recently unveiled a brand new teardrop trailer dubbed Rivet, and it looks awesome!

Standing at 25.3 feet long, the RV weighs 3,500lbs, which makes it feasible for even EVs to tow it around. Akin to its other models in its esteemed lineup, Bowlus has sheathed Rivet in an aluminum frame. Interestingly, Bowlus has opted for an aluminum interior as well. This has been deliberately done to cut down weight and cost. Inside the monocoque exterior skin is an array of features including a separate bedroom with a king-size bed, a “luxury ensuite bathroom”, and a separate living room and kitchen. Overall, the RV sleeps four people in a breeze.

Discussing the living room first, it features high-quality seating with a sofa & armchairs. Together, they convert to form the third and fourth sleeping berth. The soft closing drawers under the sofa/seating add an extra layer of storage inside the RV. A little ahead is the kitchen which includes a two-burner induction cooktop, composite countertop, faucet, fridge/freezer, microwave, and several cupboards.

Another USP of the Rivet is its separate bedroom that includes a high-quality mattress. It is further adorned with Marine LED reading lights and a night table. Adjacent is the bathroom equipped with a Marine shower head, toilet, and sink, the bathroom is as functional as one would find in a luxurious tiny home.

High on functionality and features, the Rivet comes with an off-grid electrical system. “Like all Bowlus models, the Rivet can run all appliances (including the air-conditioning and heating) off-grid via the best-in-class Bowlus Power Management System and AeroSolar™,” mentions the company. This is possible courtesy of an 8.0-kWh battery pack and 660 watts of solar power.

But that’s not all. The Rivet also features self-propulsion technology with remote-controlled parking. So in case you are stuck in the wild or trying to squeeze your RV into a tight place, the proprietary Bowlus feature, AeroMove (remote-controlled parking) allows you to park and navigate the RV into tight spaces, without any hassle. Not just that, it also offers features like spinning 360 degrees and parallel parking.

If you find it hard to tow your RV on a rigged surface, do not worry, Bowlus has that covered for you as well. “The Bowlus Power Management System allows for a seamless and easy user experience. Enjoy hard-to-reach locations – thanks to a 3-inch lifted axle with all-terrain tires to support off-grid access,” state the makers. Having said that, it’s self-propelled, self-powered, and remote-controlled – enabling access virtually anywhere RV will cost you $148,500 (after tax credits).
