Famous American channel HGTV is always in the headlines for innovative crafts, home improvement and décor projects. Recently, they unveiled 3,200-square-foot three-bedroom, three-bath Dream Home 2017 situated on St. Simons Island, Georgia. It is all round renovated by Atlanta designer Brian Patrick Flynn. In an interview with Atlanta Magazine, Flynn gave a brief presentation of its modern interior design, while HGTV’s online gallery says it all about the Southern-styled exteriors and backyard with landscaped garden. He remodeled interiors of this 1980s cottage in blue-and-white color scheme to match with the white exteriors contrasting the minute black trim.
Main areas of the house are draped in sober earth tones, while master bedroom, master bathroom, laundry room, pool lounge and the pool bathroom are decked in coastal color theme to instill tranquility in the space. As a modern interior design feature, one can see walls covered in classic patterned wallpapers including the guest bedroom featuring plaid wallpaper. Interiors are furnished with leather chairs, blue sofas and off-white cotton duck sofas with easy-to-handle slipcovers. The pool lounge area features a wooden Pergola with separate dining space having white and black chairs.
The kitchen area is decorated with green backsplash tiles, while countertop is painted in deep emerald green to depict nature. According to Flynn, the dining area is a one-of-its-kind addition in comparison to HGTV’s other Dream Homes till date. It boasts contemporary, moody and a super sculptural dining room design with a Southern house like feel, and it is one of his favorite sections of the house.
The house also includes a garage, home gym and an outdoor fireplace. There are many design details in this modern dwelling that are designed keeping in mind the latest trends in interior design. Just like previous years, this fully furnished house will be given to the winner of the online contest for HGTV’s Dream Home 2017.
