Silverton-based Tiny Mountain Houses, the firm behind the Mt Gabriella and Yukon, recently completed a new model dubbed Columbia 2 tiny house on wheels. Understandably, the micro dwelling is a successor of Columbia tiny house, earlier launched by the company. Measuring 40 feet long, the towable dwelling costs $80K and is built on a triple-axle trailer. It is clad in hardboard residential siding exterior with a 40-year standing seam metal roof alongside white residential vinyl high-efficiency Low E glazed windows.

What separates Columbia 2 from its predecessor is the expansive width the former offers. Columbia 2 measures 9.2 feet wide, which exceeds the standard towing limit in the US, so it’ll need a permit to go on the road. Courtesy of the expansive width, Lou and his team at Tiny Mountain Houses were successful in accommodating a downstairs master bedroom that sleeps a couple comfortably. The bedroom is encompassed by windows on two sides and a closet on the third. Not to mention, a generous-sized bed and enough space for furnishing items.

On entering, visitors are presented with a spacious lounge area with sofa, table, and some space for a freestanding fireplace. The interior also includes white residential textured sheetrock walls and ceilings painted white with white painted residential baseboard, window, and door trim throughout. Adjacent is the dinette that offers a compact eating space for two.

What follows next is the substantial kitchen with standard laminate countertops. The backsplash includes a stainless steel deep sink with a brushed chrome faucet and loads of counter space. The kitchen is further accoutered with residential-size appliances including a propane range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and stacked washer and dryer. Not to mention, the standard built-in black rangehood that comes alongside a stainless steel or black microwave/ range hood. Other features include overhead cabinets that allow more storage.
