Cecilia Ferrero, an industrial designer and patronize known for sustainable designs has come up with the Couro lamps for Spanish eco furniture and accessories maker Let’s Pause. This lighting collection takes an innovative approach in product design by utilizing a natural fiber as the main material.

At first glance, the Couro lamps seem to be made of leather, but they are not – actually they are made from leaves of American palm, with chocolate color and fibrous texture, which give them an elegant natural look.

For this, Let’s Pause collects and transforms fallen leaves into unique sculptural lights that offer a soft and enchanting illumination.

The Couro lamps are available in two models: the first one boasts a conical shape and is made of a single sheet. On the other hand, the second model has eight leaves arranged in form of a closed tulip flower. Both of them aren’t mere lampshades but pieces of art.

Each lampshade is provided with a 2.5-meter matte black cotton cord, a lamp holder, a black plug and a brown aluminum frame.

The 8-leaves Couro lamp is priced at €590 ($660); it’s available from the official website.
