Ewan Allan, a concrete artist and the owner of Four Eight Eight, has created a two-seater concrete sofa that is so deceptive that it gives the illusion of being an authentic leather sofa. The quality of the concrete mix and masterfully crafted mould is so fine that texture of the original leather can be seen on close examination.

The sofa is not just a solid lump of concrete, instead it’s hollow and is fairly manageable if needed to be moved and stationed at some other place. To add extra strength, glass fibers are also fused with concrete. Concrete mix is so dense and the sealant fortifies it from harsh weather conditions. However, it might need a wash once a year if kept outdoors.

There are several holes in the lower part of the sofa for draining out rainwater. The sofa can also be coursed to be used indoors, as long as you warn the guests before they sit on it. Sofa stand is made of steel and fixed by means of welding and is available in two different designs. Standard stand is has metal legs and is fit to be placed on firm surfaces, while the non-standard version is great for grassy surface to prevent it from sinking into softer grounds.

Despite its concrete make, it’s moderately comfortable to be seated on by three people. Available in 14 different colors with optional extra custom colors, it leaves the users with a wide range of variety.

Four Eight Eight is offering this concrete sofa for a standard price of €3,000 (approx. $3,270), with an extra €150 (approx. $163) for custom coloring and €100 ($109.01) for the non-standard stand.
